अनुभूतविषयासंप्रमोषः स्मृतिः ॥११॥
anu-bhūta-viṣaya-asaṁpramoṣaḥ smṛtiḥ ||11|| [RS] 1.11 Recollections are engendered by the past, insofar as the relevant experience has not been eclipsed. [JW] 1.11 Memory (smrti) is not adding surreptitiously (asampra-mosa) to a once experienced object.
