जातिदेशकालसमयानवच्छिन्नाः सार्वभौमामहाव्रतम् ॥३१॥
jāti-deśa-kāla-samaya-anavacchinnāḥ sārvabhaumā-mahāvratam ||31||


[RS] 2.31 Showing respect for others without regard for social station, or for place, time, or circumstance in all spheres of this respect is a great virtue.

[JW] 2.31 When they are unqualified by species or place or time or exigency and when [covering] all [these] classes - [under these circumstances exists] the Great Course-of-conduct.

[SS] 2.31 These Great Vows are universal, not limited by class, place, time or circumstance. [p126]

[EB] 2.31 [These yamas] are considered the great vow. They are not exempted by one's class, place, time, or circumstance. They are universal. [p248]
