क्लेश कर्म विपाकाशयैःपरामृष्टः पुरुषविशेष ईश्वरः ॥२४॥
kleśa karma vipāka-āśayaiḥ-aparāmṛṣṭaḥ puruṣa-viśeṣa īśvaraḥ ||24|| [RS] 1.24 Ishavara is a special being that is unaffected by the obstacles of the spiritual aspirant (klesha), specific actions and consequences (karma), or recollections or desires. [JW] 1.24 Untouched by hindrances or karmas or fruition or by latent-deposits, the Icvara is a special kind of Self. [SS] 1.24 Isvara is the supreme Purusha, unaffected by any afflictions, actions, fruits of actions or by any inner impressions of desires. (क्लेश, kleśa) = the spiritual aspirant’s obstacles; suffering; cause of suffering
(कर्म, karma) = actions and effects (विपाक, vipāka) = impact of actions; consequences of actions (आशयैः, āśayaiḥ) = the residual elements of an action, i.e. recollections, as well as the mainsprings of new desires.
